The Mar Inn offers a cozy atmosphere with clean rooms and a lovely breakfast that starts your day right. The breakfast features perfectly cooked eggs and rich, hot coffee, making mornings enjoyable. The location is convenient for exploring Monteverde, just a short walk into town, although returning involves a steep incline. The staff goes the extra mile, helping book tours and providing personal insights about the area. the soundproofing is lacking. I heard everything from neighboring rooms and outside noise, which made it hard to sleep. some fixtures need maintenance, like the broken accordion bathroom door that compromised privacy. Despite these issues, the overall comfort and hospitality make it a good choice for visitors.

The room was cozy and clean, but the noise from outside made it hard to sleep.

The room came with a fridge and safe. It was cleaned to a high standard. Nice views from the bar area with a garden to relax in outside of the room.
The room had a broken accordion-style bathroom door that swung open in the breeze, leaving little privacy. The wood-paneled walls made the rooms feel dark. the lack of screens on windows invited bugs in, and the noise from other guests and the road was noticeable throughout the night. the included breakfast was very poorly managed, with priorities given to tour groups leaving individual guests to scramble for service.

The welcoming smile and coffee
Upon arrival, the staff greeted me warmly, providing local insights and a detailed map. The breakfast was a delightful mix of pancakes and locally brewed coffee, fueling my adventures in Monteverde.
The hill leading back to the hotel after a day in town proved challenging. The lack of air conditioning in my room made it quite warm, limiting airflow during the night.
